Frequently Asked Questions
Shotokan Karate of America and the Indianapolis Shotokan Karate Club dojo are non-profits and the collected membership fees are to meet our expenses of running the practices.
What am I getting into?: SKA membership entitles a member to training at any SKA karate club worldwide and attend tournaments and events organized by the SKA.
What ages can practice/Is there a kids practice?: ages 13 and older.
What will it cost to practice?: Monthly dojo membership fee is $80. Family rate is available. Members need to join the national Shotokan Karate of America organization for $125 annually.
What equipment do I need?: Members must have a karate uniform (called Gi). It can be purchased through the dojo ($50) or elsewhere.
